These devices are typically large in scale, integrated directly into a vessel’s core systems, and require immense power outputs supplied by mana reactors or equivalent energy sources. Once activated, a warp drive opens a controlled passage into the Warp Dimension, enabling FTL (Faster Than Light) travel across vast interstellar distances.
Operating a Warp Drive demands exceptional precision and is overseen by a skilled Navigator interfacing with the ship’s onboard systems to calculate entry vectors, transit stability, and re-emergence points. While warp drives make rapid travel within a Galactic Sector possible, they are not capable of safely traversing the immense distances between sectors. For such journeys, warp drives must be used in conjunction with Star Relays, which provide stable, fixed destinations and allow ships to traverse across intergalactic space.
