Magic & Mana is the cornerstone of Duskara, but it doesn’t flow from a mystical source—it is a physical resource. In this world, mana takes the form of faintly glowing blue crystals, which, once refined, serve as fuel for small magical engines called magic focuses. These machines consume mana to produce what is known as magic, a force of limitless possibilities. This approach to magic, as a consumable and finite resource, sets the tone for Duskara’s unique blend of fantasy and innovation.
Although mana has always existed in the world, its secrets remained hidden until the recent discovery of an artifact known as the Arcanex. This unlocked the ability to harness mana and sparked what is now called the Age of Magic. With the Arcanex came a wave of magical inventions—airships, trains, basic power systems, and other technologies fueled by mana. These innovations have ushered Duskara into a new era of magical and technological revolutions, where primitive, steampunk-inspired machines meet the limitless potential of magic.

Duskara & the Realms Beyond
Duskara is a large planet, that stands a little over 3 times the size of Earth. The planet is bound to a sun and nestled within a solar system known as the Star Wilds. This solar system, and all its planets, exists within a greater dimension called the Material Realm. This is the central plane of existence where mortal life thrives. However, the Material Realm is not alone. It is surrounded, and profoundly influenced, by two ethereal realms: Mythgard and Hellgard. Inhabited by gods, demons and spirits, these planes exist as distinct dimensions, each brimming with potent magic that bleed into the world of mortals.


World Origin & Pantheon
The story of Duskara begins as a barren world, inhabited only by formless, wandering spirits. From this void emerged Mythos: The All-God, a powerful and divine being who transformed the desolate planet into a thriving realm of life. To bring order to the spirits, Mythos created the two ethereal planes of Mythgard and Hellgard. These realms became homes for the spirits, splitting them by their natures and roles in the cosmos. With good and neutral spirits inhabiting Mythgard, while the evil and chaotic spirits dominated the realm of Hellgard.
From the most powerful spirits, Mythos created the Keepers, elder gods tasked with overseeing essential domains such as life and death. Lesser spirits also ascended to godhood, forming a diverse pantheon. Together, this pantheon of Keepers and gods maintains a powerful connection to Duskara, influencing the mortal world and shaping its destiny.

Magic not only gave them a fighting chance but also revolutionized travel.
