Dworin

Description#

Dworin, often referred to as Dworfs or Dworvish, originate from their homeworld of Miora, a moon orbiting the human world of Duskara. Known for its slightly heavier gravity, Miora has shaped the Dworin into a short but stout race, standing around 3 to 4 feet tall with broad, stout builds that exude strength and resilience. Their underground cities, nestled deep within mountain ranges and rich mineral veins, form the heart of their civilization. Most Dworin prefer to live underground, finding comfort in the stone halls of their sprawling cities. In Dworin society, status is often tied to depth—those of the highest nobility and deepest faith dwell in the lowest reaches of their cities, some never even seeing the natural sunlight in their entire lives. This reverence for the depths reflects their cultural values of strength, tradition, and closeness to Dolgrum – The Stonefather, whom they worship as their god and protector.

Integral to Dworin life is their love for mining and crafting, skills they have mastered over generations. Renowned as some of the finest smiths and miners in the Star Wilds, the Dworin supply many worlds with high-quality ore, expertly crafted tools, and goods forged in their vast underground mines and factories. Their craftsmanship is revered across the stars, and their forges burn endlessly in the pursuit of perfection. While most Dworin remain within these underground sanctuaries, some venture to surface trading posts to exchange their masterful crafts for valuable resources. Dworin are proud, disciplined, and honor-bound, deeply tied to tradition and family. Outsiders may see them as stoic or stubborn, but those who earn their trust find them to be unshakably loyal allies. Though rare, the Dworin who leave their underground homes often do so with a clear purpose, seeking to bring honor to their kin or fulfill a personal goal tied to their community or faith.
