Description#
The Felix, often referred to as catfolk, originate from the world of Duskara, where they, like many other beastfolk, were given life and form by the divine hand of Sylvos. Felix are naturally playful, inquisitive, and curious, often embodying elegance and grace in all that they do. With an innate sense of adventure, they are known to travel far and wide, settling across the Star Wilds. While many Felix still call Duskara their home, it is not uncommon to find them wandering or even establishing homes on other worlds. Felix possess humanoid bodies with feline features, including sharp claws, slender tails, and faces that resemble cats and other felines. Their agility and grace make them versatile in both combat and exploration. They are a race driven by curiosity, often seeking new experiences, knowledge, and treasures wherever they go.

Kith#

The Kith are a reclusive subrace of Felix, distinguished by their humanoid bodies and the heads of jungle cats, often adorned with vibrant patterns and designs in their fur. Typically on the shorter side of the Felix spectrum, Kith are known for their lightweight, agile builds and an unparalleled ability to blend into their jungle environments. This natural stealth and camouflage have made them masters of remaining unseen, a skill they use to great effect in their secluded lives. Introverted by nature, Kith are slow to trust those outside their tightly knit communities, making their companionship rare but deeply valuable to those lucky enough to earn it. They are adventurous at heart, but they prefer to keep to themselves unless in the company of trusted allies. Their settlements are hidden deep within the jungles of Duskara, often inaccessible or off-limits to outsiders without an invitation. Kith revere Sylvos, as do many Felix, but their connection to nature and the wilds often leads them to worship other deities tied to the jungle and untamed wilderness. Their communities are small, close-knit, and protective of their way of life, valuing harmony with the natural world above all else.

Lionel#

The Lionel are a proud subrace of Felix, bearing humanoid bodies with feline features and the heads of lions. Their most distinctive trait is their large, flowing manes, which are deeply significant in their culture. A Lionel’s mane is a symbol of pride, personal expression, attraction, and status, reflecting their individuality and societal contributions. Lionel are larger and more powerfully built than other Felix, with a culture that values pride, strength, and honor above all else. Societal status is often earned through notable deeds, particularly those rooted in combat, courage, or leadership. As such, the Lionel are renowned as deadly fighters and fearless warriors, driven by a deep passion for the causes, people, and ideals they hold dear. Their devotion is often unwavering, making them steadfast allies and formidable opponents. Despite their strength and prideful nature, Lionel are also celebrated for their vibrant and festive culture. Their halls are filled with grand feasts, lively celebrations, and competitive blood sports, all of which are integral to their society. These events serve not only as entertainment but also as a way to strengthen their bonds and honor their traditions. Lionel communities are often bustling, full of life, and guided by a shared sense of purpose and pride.
Ability Score Increase:
Dexterity: +2, Charisma +1
Skill Selection:
You gain proficiency in two skills of your choice from the following: Stealth, Survival, Nature, or Perception.
Intimidating Roar:
As an action, you can unleash a mighty roar, audible up to 300 feet. Creatures of your choice within 30 feet must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or become frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. Once you use this ability, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
Lionel Confidence:
Your unshakable confidence and natural pride make you nearly impossible to deter. You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened, and when you succeed on a saving throw to resist the frightened condition, you can let out a defiant roar as a reaction. This roar functions as your Intimidating Roar ability, forcing creatures of your choice within 30 feet to make a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute.
